OUR BEGINNINGS

BIRTH OF THE COMPANY

It all started in 2016.

Juan Rojo and Francisco Rojo had been working for years in the family business, founded in 1888 and dedicated to the distribution and sale of footwear. They grew up between lasts, soles and counters. Footwear was not just a job: it was part of its history.

Belonging to the baby boom generation, they remembered the summers in their native Asturias. Summers of sea and green meadows. Long days, changing skies and absolute freedom. Most of the children wore their “camping” shoes: comfortable, versatile, perfect for both the sun and the rain of the northern summers.

Inheritors of the enthusiasm of their predecessors, they dreamed of creating their own brand. A brand that would recover that iconic model and reinterpret it for the new times: lighter, more colorful, more comfortable.

This is how PITAS was born; a project with deep roots and a contemporary look.

MISSION

Our mission is clear: to create casual footwear with good design, maximum comfort and excellent value for money.

In each collection we bring trends to our field, betting on a timeless, relaxed and informal design. We want our PITAS to be part of your daily life, without artifice, but with character.

PITAS are discreet, but with personality, functional, but with style. Comfortable, but full of energy.

We like color because it conveys optimism and the desire to live good times.

ASTURIAS

Asturias is not only our origin.

It is our way of understanding life.
It is nature in its purest form.
It is sea and mountains on the same horizon.
It is a strong character and a noble heart.
It is tradition and authenticity.


From Asturias we learned the importance of quality, a job well done and keeping our feet on the ground. We learned to adapt, to resist the rain and to enjoy the sun when it appears. That balance between strength and simplicity is present in each pair of PITAS.

Throughout these 10 years we have reached Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Mexico and the United States. We have crossed borders without losing our roots, taking our way of understanding design and comfort to new horizons.

From the north of Spain to the world, with the same essence with which we started: authenticity, closeness and country spirit. Because it doesn't matter how far we go. Asturias will always be our starting point.

BRAND

NAME AND LOGO

When we were looking for a name for the brand, we wanted something that spoke of origin, naturalness and character. We wanted something that sounded like home. In Asturias—and in many northern areas—we call chickens “pitas.”
The pita is a free-range, free and active animal. It lives outdoors, adapts to the environment and moves with ease. It is resistant, close and noble. It has personality. It doesn't go unnoticed. And, in a way, we saw ourselves reflected in her. A close, authentic word, ours.

Like our footwear, pita is made for everyday life. To walk, to enjoy, to move without complications. It is simple, but with character. Humble, but confident.

Es entrañable y algo irreverente. Tiene un punto inconformista, alegre y optimista. Representa nuestra manera de entender la vida: con naturalidad, cercanía y libertad.

Desde un pequeño rincón de Asturias, esta gallina campera abre las puertas de su corral al mundo.

Porque creemos que no hace falta ser enorme para llegar lejos.
